Free Chapstick

So, today when I got home from work there was a cute little package waiting on my doorstep. I was pleasantly surprised to open it up and find these!

Birch Bloggers has sent me the New Chapstick hydration lock formulas. One is a 24 hour care with one end for night use and the other end for day use and the second one is an anti-aging formula.

I have to say, it is really tough to choose my favorite. The 24 hour care, day and night smells amazing, almost beach-ey and the anti-aging one is super silky feeling and not greasy at all. I will use each one of these products for a full month and come back to update you guys on which is the best and why.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to BirchBloggers for sending me these, how sweet of them!

As always, thanks for reading and see ya’ll soon with an update!

************UPDATE REVIEW********************

Ok guys, it has been a little over a month since I recieved these chapsticks from Birch Bloggers. I wanted to check back in with ya’ll and let you know my feelings towards them 🙂

Day and Night Chapstick = the “day” end smells great, is full of moisturizing-ness and lasted a pretty long time on my lips. The “night” end i would put on right before bed and when i got up, my lips felt so soft and suptle. I use this chapstick literally every day and night now! Love this one!

Anti-Aging Chapstick = Haven’t really seen any difference in appearance when it comes to wrinkles or lines but it is still early i guess? The actual product on both ends is really silky and soft feeling. I love the spf in them so I can be confident in the sun that I’m not frying my lips.

Overall = My new favorite is definitely the day and night version because I love that I can wear the day side with lipstick or by itself and that the night side is great for when I’m asleep. Thanks again BirchBloggers for such an awesome product and the chance to try them out!!!! ❤ ❤

Ulta Makeup Mini-Haul with Full Reviews

Hey Guys!! I had originally wanted my first post to be about a subscription box but I STILL haven’t made up my mind on which one I want to try first so I figured in the mean time that I could review a few products I just picked up at Ulta yesterday.

I was really in need of some new mascara and as usual, ended up walking out of there with like five extra things. Anyway, on to the reviews!!

  1. Lash Domination Mascara by Bare Minerals $18.00 = Like I said before, I really was in need of new mascara so I thought I would go big and try this new Bare Minerals one. First, here’s a little disclaimer about what I look for in a mascara, I need a mascara that comes off easily in the shower the next day. I don’t usually have time to take off all my  makeup after a day of work and basic life so I need a mascara that isn’t like super glue on my lashes and isn’t too water resistant. I also look for one that curls and volumizes. Sooooo on to the review…

❤ LOVES = cute tube, the ribbed wand handle is very efficient at application, the wand end is one of those plastic kind versus the bristle types and made application easy and really coated my lashes well.

😦 HATES = The actual mascara its self is kinda clumpy for some reason, is very thick and hard to remove with only water, made my lashes look pretty clumpy.

BOTTOM LINE = I liked everything about this product except for the actual mascara LOL I wish I could fill the tube with my favorite MAC False Lashes Extreme Black instead and then I would love it! I won’t buy this product again.

2.  Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer $11.99 = I have pretty light skin so I bought this product in the shade”Ivory to Fair 10″. I usually love BB creams and keep the Garnier BB in my daily arsenal so I thought I would give this one a try considering  when I go to work I don’t really like a full coverage foundation. I still haven’t found one that doesn’t cake or get “line-ey looking”  after like four hours.

❤ LOVES = the pump it comes in is great and dispenses just enough product at a time, the foundation is very light and silky, the coverage was really, super light which was good for work, color matched pretty well, theres ALOT in this tube.

😦 HATES = since the coverage was so light it really didn’t look like i had any makeup on after a few hours at work, the foundation settled into my skin pretty quick and sort of brought out my pores more then I liked, it smelled like sunscreen which I didn’t like.

BOTTOM LINE = I love how much there is in the tube for the price and after I used it a couple times with primer and powder the light coverage was good for work but it did’t really last long throughout the day. By the time I got home from a 9 hour day it was all melted away so I didn’t like that part. I won’t buy this product again just because of the lack of staying power but it was pretty good other then that.

3. Urban Decay de-slick Makeup Setting Spray 1.0 fl oz. $14.00 = I have been hearing and reading awesome things about this setting spray so I have been dying to try it HOWEVER, I haven’t been dying to pay the $30 for 4. fl oz’s. I was overjoyed when I found the smaller, travel size for half the price so in case I hated it, I didn’t feel guilty for blowing 30 bucks.

❤ LOVES = I went through a whole 9 hour work day and NEVER got oily, the product feels awesome on my skin and not sticky or heavy, it smells good, two sprays in a “T” motion was all I needed for coverage, love the matte feeling bottle.

😦 HATES = I don’t really care for the pump it has, it don’t really help my eyeshadow from creasing.

BOTTOM LINE = I will for sure buy this product again and won’t feel bad about dishing out $30 for the regular size.

4. Smashbox Photo Finish, More Than Primer, Blemish Control Primer .50 fl. oz. $15 = I had gotten a very small trial size of the regular photo finish primer a year back and really liked it so I thought I would try the travel size, blemish version since I’ve been having a couple breakout areas lately.

❤ LOVES = it made my skin feel super smooth and silky, it was odorless which was great, after using for two weeks I definitely saw a clear up in my problem areas, it made my makeup go on really smoothly.

😦 HATES = the only negative I could find about this product was that other then my face being clear, I don’t really think it made my makeup last any longer or actually make the way it look any different.

BOTTOM LINE = When I need primer again I will most likely try a cheaper version to see if its really worth the money. I’ve heard great things about the NYX primer hmmm….

5. Essence Long Lasting Lipstick $2.99 a tube = I feel like every time I see a mauvey-nude lipstick that I don’t have, i have to buy it and it really didn’t help that this brand was so cheap. I got the color “11 Nude Love”

❤ LOVES = I love the matte tube and the color band it has which perfectly matched the lipstick, LOVE the color, LOVE the formula which was really smooth and it went great with a slightly glossy finish but nothing crazy.

😦 HATES = the only negative thing is that it didn’t last very long especially once I started drinking my coffee

OVERALL = I am pretty much dying to go back and get every color they have so will totally be buying again.

Soooo hopefully this review will help you make some great beauty choices and feel free to ask any questions or offer any feedback you may have!! Keep in mind I am in no way a makeup professional and that these are just my personal opinions and experiences and they may not be everyones. Thanks for reading guys and see y’all next time!!!! ❤ ❤

My first post… Lets see how this goes ;)

Hi guys! This is my first shot at my first blog posting. Lets get straight to the basics here… a little bit about myself first. I am a full time mom, wife and program analyst. Some days I truly don’t know how I pull it all off but its been an amazing ride.

I LOVE makeup, hair and cute outfits. Shoes are a passion of mine as well as being a total foodie. I love to cook and am always looking for new, exciting recipes to try. Thats where the world of subscription boxes comes in….

I love the idea of getting  box every month full of little surprises. Every time I order makeup from my favorite stores E.L.F. and MAC, getting that box from UPS is like Christmas morning. I can’t wait to get it open an try each special thing i bought. Thats why I am so excited to try out these box subscriptions. It seems like no matter what your looking for, they have a box for it! Whether its baby clothes, dog treats or even Japanese candy you can get a box of love sent right to your door every month and most of the time they are very affordable.

I am so excited to write my first subscription box review and hopefully you come back to read about it 🙂 I am a newbie to this world so please let me know if you have any tips or constructive criticism for me! Thanks guys for reading and see ya next time ❤
